Information About the Building:
The Kavanagh Building, finished in 1936, Rationalist Style, overlooking the Plaza San Martin and the national flag of Argentina. Built by Corina Kavnagh investing all she had inherited to build her own skyscraper. The architecture is gorgeous and most impressive masterpiece of Buenos Aires with a height of 120 m it still retains its impact against the modern skyline of the city. It was at the time the highest reinforced concrete structure in the world.
Legend says that Corina build the Skycraper to block the view from the Church of the Anchorena family to Plaza San Martin as a revenge for the disapproval of the engagement of their daughter to the wealthy and aristocratic son of the Anchorena family.
Even today the apartment on one of the higher floors overlooks both sides from living room and kitchen to Plaza San Martin and the city to the riverside and from all bedrooms the fantastic shape of downtown (Microcenter) , harbour and the boats to Uruguay. The apartment is completely renovated and the decorated rooms have huge windows with fantastic views and a lot ofl natural sunlight.
The elegant 900 sq. meters original art deco entrance hall with original furniture from mies van der rohe from the 1930's has bronze elevators that lead directly in to the art deco built apartment.
